First, let me recommend Yaakov Weingarten\u2019s \u05e1\u05d3\u05e8 \u05e7\u05d9\u05e0\u05d5\u05ea \u05d4\u05de\u05e4\u05d5\u05e8\u05e9. In my opinion his \u05e1\u05e4\u05e8 is a Rashi-like commentary. In other words, before you read anyone else\u2019s commentary on any Kinah, study what Weingarten presents. His strengths are in providing a Hebrew to Hebrew translation of the words of each Kinah and his footnotes provide the Rabbinic sources for many of the words in each Kinah. In addition, his \u05d4\u05e7\u05d3\u05de\u05d4 provides a comprehensive introduction to the Kinot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"416\" height=\"562\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/beureihatefila.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Weingarten-Title-Page.png?resize=416%2C562&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-588\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/beureihatefila.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Weingarten-Title-Page.png?w=416&amp;ssl=1 416w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/beureihatefila.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Weingarten-Title-Page.png?resize=222%2C300&amp;ssl=1 222w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/beureihatefila.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Weingarten-Title-Page.png?resize=150%2C203&amp;ssl=1 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 416px) 100vw, 416px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I decided to begin with the Tisha B\u2019Av Kinot that are said on Tisha B\u2019Av night because I do not remember ever hearing any discussion about teh Kinot of Tisha B\u2019Av night. What caught my attention was the Kinah that is said only when Tisha B\u2019Av begins on Motzei Shabbat which has the following refrain; \u05d5\u05b4\u05d9\u05d4\u05b4\u05d9 \u05e0\u05b9\u05bd\u05e2\u05b7\u05dd \u05e0\u05b4\ufb2a\u05b0\ufb31\u05b8\u05ea. \ufb31\u05b0\u05de\ufb4b\u05e6\u05b8\u05d0\u05b5\u05d9 \ufb2a\u05b7\ufb31\u05b8\u05ea. It is quite unusual to recite a Piyut whose theme is the omission of a prayer. When Tisha B\u2019Av begins on Motzei Shabbat we omit the \u05e4\u05e1\u05d5\u05e7 of \u05d5\u05b4\u05d9\u05d4\u05b4\u05d9 \u05e0\u05b9\u05bd\u05e2\u05b7\u05dd and Tehillim Chapter 91 after reciting Shemona Esrei. Why?
